I am not a great cook but I know what a sharp knife is. The Sharpener’s Edge will give you just that. A razor sharp blade. I was a little intimidated by the instructions at first. They look long and complicated. DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED!! The instructions are long because they detail exactly how to determine what angle to use to sharpen your knife or scissor. It’s all in the angle. Did you know that blades have angles? Neither did I. That’s why so many sharpening devices fail. The angle isn’t factored in. This angle is important to know. Take the time to figure out what angel your knife has and the rest is easy. If you have a draw or two, like I do, of knives and scissors give The Sharpener’s Edge a try. It is suggested that once you have your angles figured out keep a log or note to refer back to. Me? I wrote it on the handle of each knife. I’m sold. I hope you will be too!<\/p><\/div>

This knife sharpener is so different than any others that I have used. It makes so much sense to get the correct angle of the knife blade, each knife that I have has a different angle . In the past I was sharpening each knife as though they all had the same angle and in the process I ruined many of my knives. With The Sharpener’s Edge I can certainly tell the difference . My knives are so much sharper and I feel that I am retaining the quality of my knives. It is also so versatile , now I can sharpen all my sewing and embroidery scissors with the same tool . I am so happy that I discovered The Sharpener’s Edge knife sharpener, and know that I will never need another knife sharpener.<\/p><\/div>

\nWhen I tried a friend\u2019s sharpener, I was impressed with the ease and speed to get a very sharp edge. Holding your knife vertical is easy to do accurately. The sharpener was also sturdy, so I ordered three, one for me, and couple for my brother and son. I am impressed with the ease both of changing sharpening rods, and of sharpening the two sides of my knives.<\/p>

I have been able to sharpen 3 knives that I have not been able to sharpen well previously, including my Vietnam survival knife and a Buck knife that has been very frustrating. My survival knife, my Buck knife and my Leatherman knife are now very sharp. My brother likewise had a knife that he had been unable to sharpen well over the years, and this sharpener put an edge on it quickly. He is very happy with it. I occasionally give the knives I use a couple of swipes on the sharpener, and that keeps them sharp. I agree that if you have a lot of cutting instruments, you might want to log the angle that you use for each.<\/p>

If you have lost the original edge bevel on your knife due to years of mis-sharpening, like I did, mine sharpened well at 18 degrees, and you might still try the sharpie marking method that that the manufacturer recommends. One article suggested all the way down to 10 degrees for knives used for fine cutting of soft material, and up to 30 degrees for heavier knives used for chopping.<\/p><\/div>

After a few years of Jim sharpening my knives for me and returning them sharper than they had ever been, I had to get one for myself! Working side by side with him and watching the hard work and research he had to put in just to get the first set produced was a testament to a great product. It took me a bit to figure out how to use it correctly but I assure you, if you follow his directions step by step you won\u2019t go wrong. It\u2019s so simple, even I figured it out. This is a well built, well designed sharpening tool. I have owned many knife sharpeners in my life but have never been able to put a good edge on a knife until I bought this sharpener. I have used it to put a perfect edge on of all my hunting, fishing and work knives and scissors. I even sharpened a PVC pipe cutter that I was going to throw away and it now cuts great. This sharpener will save you a lot of money in the end and make using your cutting tools more enjoyable to use. I highly recommend it!<\/p><\/div>

I received this Sharpener as a gift and I have to say it’s a great tool, this system takes all the guess work out of finding the correct edge angle in order to obtain a sharp edge. I\u2019ve had The Sharpener\u2019s Edge for several months now. It is so easy to use after I got the hang of it. I can keep my deer skinning knife very sharp in minutes. I took the sharpener to the hunt club one day and sharpened knives for a couple guys on the tailgate of my truck. I quickly had an audience. I could have done better if I had followed all the instructions provided by JCS, but I had it set up for my knife and didn\u2019t feel like changing it. In a couple minutes their knives were sharp anyway. At the next club hunt, there were guys asking for me to sharpen their knives, but I didn\u2019t have the sharpener with me.<\/p>

Greatest return on investment ever. I had draw full of knives I could never get sharp, even resorted to my grinder which sharpened, but not a good edge and very uneven. Used this product and brought back to life over a dozen knives worth over $750.00; they are currently sharper than when originally purchased and makes slicing any meats half the chore. Carving my turkey this year produced the best slices of breast meat I have ever served on a platter (just the wife and I). The one thing I highly recommend, read the directions, watch the video and follow the directions to determine blade angle. Finding the proper existing angle of your blade makes this a simple task even on dull knives. If you want, you can change the angle of your knife with this tool, it just takes some time. I changed one knife from 22-1\/2 degrees to 16 degrees; if I had to guess, I ran knife thru process over 250 times to achieve an almost razor sharp edge. So not only did this tool make an otherwise useless collection of knives usable again, I don’t have to keep spending money on new knives.<\/p><\/div>

Purchased the sharpeners edge a couple years ago. It has been a great product and the product support is awesome, if ever I have any problems finding the degree of the knife edge Jim is spot on with his information. I work as a mechanic and I have quickly become the “guy who sharpens knifes” for the team. I will accept the task as once you find the edge for someones knife it is easy to tune it up. I keep a little notebook with my sharpener with team members name and type of knife and the degree of its edge as well as my household knifes. Great knife sharpener.<\/p><\/div>
